|Appraiser Comments:||Hi Sandra; Thank you for the information you sent to me. I have researched the artist and have not been able to find any past listings of his work in any of my data. When appraising art, the first thing that an appraiser does is to look for listings of past sales. Unfortunately, it seems there are none. The work in the picture is well done and the painting does have value. In todays market most dealers and collectors are looking for listed artists, so it makes unlisted paintings like yours less saleable and therefore less valuable. Although i do not have the exact size of the picture , i can tell from your photo that it is a good size and it displays very well and the scene is pleasing to the eye. Also from the photo of the back , i can tell that the picture was painted sometime in the last half of the twentieth century. The work in the painting is good enough so that as time goes on, the artist may be listed.Your picture is worth $200.00 at fair market value and $350.00 at replacement value. Larry Shapiro|
