| Appraiser Comments: | Hello There, What a lovely little mirror, and how quaint with the leather inserts. Usually that sort of decorative insert is made from stamped tim. The panels are very reminiscent of the design work being done by the William Morris Art & Crafts Shops in England during the later third of the 19th century. I do not believe this to be by them, but I do believe that is of English origin, and of that time frame. The missing hook can probably be replaced by a found item of the same type of a good quality repro. I would not do a thing to the wood frame. The below values reflect the damage, and NOT Mint condition. Sincerely, David P. Donaldson, MFA ps....thanks for the slide show, it was a nice treat. |
