| Appraiser Comments: | Hello, this is Anita Bartlett-Picarella from New York. Your request for an appraisal has been referred to me for reply. I have closely examined the information you submitted. My findings are based on this information. Your clock is certainly a very attractive and decorative item. Without examining it personally, I can't be sure of the date, but if it is Louis-Phillipe, it would date 1830-1848. The Chantilly mark is the mark for the porcelain manufactury. You did not mention if a clock maker was noted, but the value of these clocks are based more on the porcelain than the clockworks. It's a shame about the damage but it can be repaired; however, it does have a small influence on the value. Most of the comparables I have found for Louis Phillipe clocks are of metal or other media other than porcelain, so I expect you have a unique item. If you are planning to sell it, I'm sure you will do well with it. The subject matter is very appealing. Keep in mind that the values listed below can vary depending upon how and where marketed, locale, and may vary across different collecting disciplines.
