| Appraiser Comments: | Hello, This is Anita Bartlett-Picarella. Your request for an appraisal has been referred to me for reply. I have examined the information you provided. My opinon of value is based on the accuracy of this information. A direct examination may lead to different value concludsions and alter this opinion either way. This on-line appraisal and opinion of value is not an "authentication". Thank you for your fine photographs and descriptive information.Following is a link to a sold or offered comparable lot which I hope you can copy and paste into your browser. Here is the link: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/2368805 Although this item is not identical to yours, it is a close example, and I have used this example, as well as others I have examined, to form my opinion of value.
For a detailed analysis and history, you would have to submit your item for a Deluxe Appraisal. Louis was matched with former world heavyweight champion Max Schmeling. Although not considered a threat, the German had studied Louis' style intently, and believed he had found a weakness. By exploiting Louis' habit of dropping his left low after a jab, Schmeling handed Louis his first loss by knocking him out in round 12 in New York. A good deal of the value of your poster would be determined by how important this fight was to collectors of boxing memorabilia. Only testing the market will tell the "real" value. If you are planning to sell, keep in mind that the values listed below can vary depending upon how and where marketed, locale, and may vary across different collecting disciplines. If you are satisfied with the services I have rendered, I would be most grateful if you would take the time to leave some positive feedback Kindest regards, |
