| Appraiser Comments: | No company was or is as aggressive at merchandising than Disney. The first Disney toys, Mickey Mouse dolls, were produced in 1928. The company closely monitored their licensees to ensure consistent quality and image. They also agressively pursued counterfeitors.
Your Mickey Mouse nodder was produced in Japan prior to World War II, and carries the Walt E. Disney trademark, indicating it was made before 1939. Your toy is a very desiirable one for Disney collectors. Its only detriment is the dent in its head. Having the original box also adds an additional 40% to its value. Since I am unable to examine this item in person, it is assumed to be an original 1930s Mickey Mouse celluloid and tin nodder with the original box, one dent to the head, and no other flaws whatseover, in either the toy or the box. The values given below are based on these assumptions. |
