| Client's Own Valuation Research |
| Please keep in mind that when evaluating your items, as appraisers, we do NOT rely on online auction sites or in the case of china, online databases such as Replacements.com since their valuation of the pieces is based on not only supply and demand, but their own "make happy," price. What I've learned about a lot of sites is that they list very high prices for you to replace an item, but in most cases, they are only willing to give you about 10-20% of their "list price" should you decide to SELL to them. Just thought I'd share this "interesting fact" with you. The same with most antique and or collectibles reference guides, they are exactly that, A REFERENCE and they can't possibly guarantee your selling price since it's virtually impossible for them to know the market you intend to sell it in. Lastly, the sales price of any item be it antique, vintage or otherwise, is dependent upon the BUYERS MOTIVATION at the time of purchase. |
